i managed to try every other MOBA (dota, hon, the one on sc2) and hated all of them so i didn't even bother with this one. i'm not sure what it is about this one (maybe because i've just been really bored for a while?) but i am really liking it. Going to get Kassadin once I get enough points but playing Skarner until then/until the week is up, because Skarner is a fucking beast

Anyone play Dominion today?
I did
I thought it was OK.
Here are some facts you may or may not already know:
I'm pretty sure games literally can not last longer than 15 minutes. Game 1 I lost but we put up a fight, lost in 14:46 or something. Game 2 we absolutely destroyed the other team and won in 14:41 or something.
It seems like AD characters are favored in this gametype, at least early on. You get 15% armor pen but 5% mpen, there are more new items for AD characters (2 +aspd weapons that proc 100 damage on hit).
You start at level 3 with 1375 gold.
You gain a shitload of passive gold and a fair amount of passive experience. You still don't gain experience when you die and get more xp for killing things.
The death penalty is at most like, 15 seconds or something. Pretty insignificant.
Kassadin can't riftwalk down from the starting platform onto the battlefield ( )
The new summoner spells. I don't know when using Promote would be worthwhile, but the Garrison one is cool if you use it to tower dive.
The buffs in the middle are awesome and someone should have it at all times, and try to stop the other team from getting it or they could turn the tides of battle. for about 2 minutes I think, you get a 425 health shield (refreshes every 4 seconds you haven't been hit) and every 4 seconds your next spell/attack deals extra damage. There is one of these totems for each team but you can only interact with your buff.
The vision is like a dartboard: you can't see the very outermost part (the starting platforms) but you can see the main ring with the capture points at all times, the next inner ring you can not see (the outer layer of the "jungle") and you have vision of the buffs in the middle.
Dying and shit doesn't really matter. If you can interrupt a capture, but then die, you've done enough. The extra time you had the tower will make up for the 2 health you lost for dying.
Each team's nexus has 500 health that diminishes over time based on how many towers the other team controls, and -2 per champion death.
For some reason Shaco's jack in the boxes didn't appear to stealth properly. I could see them always and killed them quite a bit. Other stealths appear to work, such as Shaco's Deceive and Akali's shroud thing.
You can get by by running around like assholes but just like Arathi it would always be better to actually have a plan.

Dominion was pretty sweet all in all. It would be nice to set up a team sometime and roll thru some noobs =P i also noticed the favor being on the AD side and that kinda blows for me since i <3 my AP toons. Next time i get a chance id like to try swain or cho (mabbe not cho becuse feast would take forever to build up in dominion) idk idk i need a good ap toon for Dominion tho and so far the only char iv done decent with is malz |
