If you have ever sent a squad into a town to save citizens and had them mind controlled by aliens (which caused you to scream with rage and then quickly load a save game), then you know exactly what game I'm talking about.
If you remember that guided missiles that can turn corners, go through doorways, down a hallway, and then explode in a room was way way overpowered, then you're definitely with me.
Anyone else? You're probably too young to remember. MS-DOS glory days and all that fun stuff.
