I don't know about anyone else, but this is absolutely my favorite time of the year. Warm sunny days, cool crisp nights (perfect for curling up by the fire). The trees are shining in all their wonderous glory.....the pin oaks in their crimson drapes...the sugar maples with their golden halos....I absolutely love it. It is a true feast for the eyes...
I sort of wax romantic about life this time of the year, and God's gorgeous artistic displays only intesifies the feelings....I just had to share...

I share your feelings as well, but alas... I live in a desert...
Cactus look the same year round..... would be neat if they changed color!!
The drop in temperature is definately welcome however. I remeber one fall season I turned the air conditioner down to the coldest setting so it would be cool enough to have the fireplace going...
For me it marks the time when you can drive your car without having the AC on high. Just cruise with the windows down and enjoy the smell of the desert flowers.
Good times.

San Francisco is weird around now. We don't have typical seasons. October/November/December actually bring on our hottest days. Sometimes, May/June/July/August can be the coldest. Mark Twain once said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." |
