Anyone read any gameplay reviews on SF IV? I think im gonna preorder it tomorrow but would hate if they screwed up the mechanics. As if it mattered, im terrible at the others anyways.

SF4 is an amazing game. Imagine if you will the Tekken saga in which 4 was a break from the original concept, but returned to its roots in 5. SF4 returns the series to its roots. Sf3 3rd Strike was an re-inventing of the Street Fighter franchise, and did wonders for the 2d fighting community. It broke away from the SF2 flagship with the parry system and a much more forgiving move entry system ( Urien/Hugo anyone?) SF4 returns the franchise to its SF2 glory days in which quarters lined the tops of the machines and lines stretching the length of arcades. Quite simply this game rocks. Its visuals and engine are top notch, but in tournament play, you still have defined tier listings.

Diago is one of the best Ken/Ryu players in the world.

Dude, if Bryan juggles made you mad in 5, you will be furious about 6. PS. Both games are playable in Austin! UFO arcade ftw.

PPS,

There was a 128 man tournament in Japan put on by Capcom.

A Dhal player got first place and shocked everyone. Mago, Diago, and other top ranking players were present. So awesome. Yoga teleport really has priority, and he has a new projectile dodge called Yoga Tower.

Thats some bad curry. It may be my ignorance in the sweetER science, but it just looked like he had alot more range. I assume both players where experts in there toons. Reminds me of when i used to play taki and my buddy would get lame ass wins with kilik's jump and down swing over and over again as i tried to get up on soul caliber on dreamcast.

Wow.

Iyo is insane at Sim, always was in cvs2. If there is a player that had a better Sim than mine it was Iyo. I learned many a trick from watching his videos. It's awesome to see him represent yoga style in sf4. Smile

Calisa,

32nd and Speedway in Austin they have a sf4 machine at UFO arcade, you should check it out if you haven't done so already. I have a hunch that they will hold the EVO2k9 South qualifiers at this arcade in March/April.

Did Iyo play 3rd strike? I know I have seen his name in the CvS2 scene.

Turdfugason,

Space control plays a huge part in SF2/4, The Dhal player is a master at his craft. RF, I believe, is really big in the GGX scene.

Couldn't tell ya, I never got into 3rd Strike. I really never cared for the parry system. It's partly why I don't even wanna bother with SF4.

It is not as dominating as it was in SF3, its more for fake outs. It has a pretty bad frame recovery. From what I have read it is much more defensive, and rarely used

the parry system shut down offense in sf3.
people were afraid to do anything against a skilled opponent because they would get super combo'd off a parry.
