I always thought that VAC was a hoax and they were only banning folks for blatant cheats. It's nice to see them actually banning folks.
I was on a TF2 server a while back and some dude had an auto headshot app running. He headshot 5 guys in the matter of a few seconds. Yes, I play a lot and yes I know the difference between a good player and just hearing "bam bam bam bam bam" and seeing five headshots without him aiming in between.
Those kinds of cheats are the ones I don't see getting folks banned for.
Of course, there was the release bug of being able to switch weapons and have no reload time. That's been fixed, though.
